Context Sensitive Solutions
As part of the MoPac South Environmental Study, we have and will continue to engage stakeholders in a Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) process. CSS is a collaborative approach to develop transportation facilities that fit within its surroundings. It is an approach that leads to preserving and enhancing scenic, aesthetic, historic, community and environmental resources, while improving or maintaining safety, mobility and infrastructure conditions.
Stakeholders have and will continue to be asked to help guide major project design components to unify the look and feel of the corridor. These components include bridges, retaining walls, bicycle and pedestrian facilities as well as landscape treatments, hardscape and possible signature design elements.
